More About Lindy

There's a version of the story where Lindy never exists. In 2020, Flo Crivello was running Teamflow — a virtual office startup that had raised $50 million from Coatue, Menlo Ventures, and Battery Ventures and was growing fast on the tailwinds of COVID-era remote work. Then people went back to offices. Growth flatlined overnight. Crivello fired two-thirds of his team, shut down go-to-market, and redirected the entire company toward something his own sales reps had asked for: a tool that could automatically update Salesforce after customer calls.

From Virtual Office to AI Workforce

That simple request launched a climb up what Crivello calls the "ladder of abstraction." First it was Salesforce fields. Then any CRM. Then any tool. By early 2023, he had a new company: Lindy, an AI agent platform where anyone could build autonomous AI employees — "Lindies" — using natural language, no code required. A demo video posted on Twitter in March 2023 generated 70,000 waitlist signups in days. The product, by Crivello's own admission, was an embarrassing mess — it sent emails that literally said "the user wants me to send an email to 50 software engineers." Early adopters forgave it because they were buying the vision.

The Repositioning That Changed Everything

The real breakthrough came not from the product, but from the pitch. Lindy's original framing — "AI employee" — was too alien for mainstream users. Crivello repositioned it as the "Zapier of AI," grounding it in a familiar mental model. That shift, which he calls the "Notion head fake," unlocked product-market fit. By May 2024, the team had more customers than it could handle; servers were breaking under load. Lindy hit $100K MRR, then Crivello did something counterintuitive: he spent five to six months rebuilding the entire architecture from scratch because the original couldn't deliver on what customers actually needed.

  • 5,000+ integrations — more than any other agent platform as of 2025, enabled by a Pipedream partnership
  • Gaia voice agents — inbound and outbound AI phone calls at $0.19/minute using GPT-4o
  • Lindy Build — generates and tests full-stack applications from a text description
  • Agent Swarms — Lindies can spawn sub-agents to parallelize hundreds of tasks simultaneously
  • Autopilot / Computer Use — agents interact with cloud browsers and desktop apps beyond API limits

By late 2024, Lindy had reached $5.1M ARR with a 37-person team, and 5.5x'd revenue in the following 12 months to cross into high seven-figure ARR by mid-2025. The company carries $50M in capitalization from its Teamflow predecessor entity — an unusual structure where the pivot reused existing funding rather than raising a fresh round. Investors include Menlo Ventures, Coatue, Battery Ventures, Elad Gil, Lachy Groom, Addition, and a roster of founder-angels from Lattice, Loom, and Instacart. As Crivello frames it: "Build something that barely works today because in six months, it might just work perfectly."

Lindy FAQ's

What is Lindy and how does it work?

Lindy is a no-code AI agent platform that lets you build custom AI assistants — called Lindies — using natural language. You describe what you want the agent to do, connect it to your apps, and Lindy autonomously handles the task. No coding is required.

What kinds of tasks can Lindy automate?

Lindy can automate email management, meeting summaries and follow-ups, CRM data entry, lead qualification, customer support ticket responses, scheduling, research, LinkedIn outreach, and much more. If it's a repetitive workflow involving connected apps, Lindy can likely handle it.

How does Lindy's credit system work?

Lindy uses a credit-based model where each task or automation run consumes credits. Simple automations use 1 credit; complex tasks using advanced AI models consume more. The Free plan includes 400 credits/month, Pro includes 5,000, and Business includes 20,000. Additional 1,000-credit top-ups can be purchased for $10.

Which AI models does Lindy use?

Lindy supports multiple AI models including Claude Sonnet 4.5 (the default, optimized for coding and long-running tasks), Claude Sonnet 3.7, GPT-5, GPT-5 Codex, Gemini Flash 2.0, and Claude Haiku 3.5. You can select the model per agent to balance cost and capability.

Does Lindy integrate with my existing tools?

Yes. Lindy offers 5,000+ integrations including Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoom, Notion, Airtable, Twilio, Stripe, and thousands more via a Pipedream partnership. You can also call any arbitrary API using the HTTP Request action.
