In 2007, a 19-year-old in Perth, Australia was tutoring university students in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. She noticed something that should have been obvious to the billion-dollar software companies already in this space but wasn't: the tools were punishing people for not already being experts. In October 2025, Canva retired Canva Teams for new sign-ups and replaced it with Canva Business — a $20/person/month plan with no seat minimum.
